Blue Ridge
“If we mean to have heroes, statesmen and philosophers, we should have learned women.”
-Abigail Adams
This pattern can be found in issue four of Nomadic Knits, which is available as a digital download through Ravelry (click the e-book link above).
This shawl is knit as a biased rectangle using two complementary neutrals in varying stripe patterns that hold the knitter’s interest, accented with a bright pop of color in the form of an applied reversible cable border. Jazz things up by using a speckled or hand-painted skein in place of one of the neutrals, or tone it down by knitting the border cable in a softer color. Blue Ridge makes a great lightweight statement piece; a sophisticated accent to wear to the office or for Girls’ Night Out.
