The Blouse with a Gathered Neckline pattern was first published in the 1950s and this elegant sweater is very typical of this period; particularly as it is knitted in a laceweight yarn to create a delicate fabric.
Other noticable features include the unusual loop motif worked on the surface of the sweater and extra ‘tailored’ finishing touches including picot hems, a double layer neckband and subtle gathering at the centre front of the neckband. The shaped longer line body, elbow length sleeves and high neckline are all quintessential 1950s details. The sweater is knitted in separate pieces and then sewn together to maintain structure on such a lightweight piece with a back neck opening with facings and a separate neck bow also added for that couture finish.

Blouse with a Gathered Neckline is knitted using Susan Crawford Miranda, a lace weight yarn created from a luxurious blend of alpaca, silk and cashmere, giving a subtle sheen and light drape to your finished project. A perfect yarn for lacy shawls and elegant light weight garments. Shown here in shade Sunset Over The Bay.

Our model Susan is shown wearing the fourth size 107-112cm (42-44in).

The pattern includes instructions for ten sizes to fit chest measurements between 76cm (30in) and 157cm (62in) and contains both clear written pattern directions, together with charted instructions for stitch placement detail plus a comprehensive schematic diagram and sizing chart.
