Blockedge Shawl
The Blockedge Shawl is a wonderful modern crochet wrap. The triangular design starts with a simple and mindful base, making it easy to settle into the project. The real character, of course, comes from the blocked border. By adding the checkerboard edge, the shawl gets a look that is both clean and playful. The border isn’t just decorative, it also provides a beautiful, stable finish. The design is technically interesting without becoming complicated, allowing you to crochet comfortably while ending up with a unique and stylish result.
It will work beautifully with all kinds of fingering weight (sock) yarn, but I used:
Example 1
-Fingering weight yarn, I used 1 Scheepjes Whirl cake (1000 m / 225 g) color: Caramel Core Blimey and 1 Scheepjes Whirlette (455m / 100 g).
-Crochet hook 3 mm
Example 2
-Fingering weight yarn, I used 7 balls Scheepjes Organicon (170 m/ 50 g), 3 x main color: 204 Lavender Haze, 2 x color 2: 236 Mellow Mustard and 2 x color 3: 246 Dahlia.
-Crochet hook 3 mm
Measurements
135 cm x 55 cm or 53 inch x 21.5 inch, but the measurements are easy to adjust by simply continuing the pattern. If you want to make the shawl larger then the example, you will need more yarn.
-Skill level: intermediate
