Bird of Paradise Vest
A top-down lace vest knit in one piece, beginning with Back neck. Vest is worked down the Back to underarms, then stitches are picked up for Fronts and knitted down to join at underarm, then knitted to bottom edge. Slip-stitch crochet is used creatively to allow for seamless construction without cutting yarn, so fewer ends to weave in! Length is customizable, and size can be adjusted by using different yarn or needles.
Stitch pattern adapted from “Japanese Knitting Stitch Bible: 260 Exquisite patterns by Hitomi Shida”, translated by Gayle Roehm, stitch #166.
Sizes: S, (M, L) = 38 (45.5, 53) in/ 95 (114, 132.5) cm at chest. Size depends on gauge, needle size and yarn used. Linen behaves differently than wool, so if substituting, us a DK weight wool for similar results. Pattern is presented in charts for each of the 3 sizes.
Fully tech edited and tested.
