Big Sky Country
When the skies turn grey, what is better than a
large shawl to wrap around you?
This top down, asymmetrical triangular shawl was
designed to mix and match a favourite speckled
yarn with 4 gradient contrast colours, and uses
stockinette stitch and a simple lace.
The finished shawl is 87¼“/221.5cm across and
29”/73.5cm deep at the point.
Materials
Yarn: Polka Dot Sheep PDS Tenderfoot 80/20, 80%
Merino & 20% Nylon, 400yd/ 366m; 3.5 oz/ 100g.
One skein of MC, plus 200yd/183m (1.75oz/ 50g) of
each CC1, CC2, CC3 & CC4. Sample shown in
Summer Storm (MC), Spinel (CC1), Petals (CC2),
Platinum (CC3) and Scenic Byway (CC4).
Tools
US 6 (4mm) 40”/100cm circular needle, or needle
size necessary to obtain gauge; 2 stitch markers;
tapestry needle.
Gauge
18 sts/32 rows over 4”/10cm in stockinette.
