Bifrost
This pattern is provided for free courtesy of Infinite Twist.
Named for the shimmering rainbow bridge connecting heaven and earth in Norse mythology, this simple bias knit scarf is a colorful romp through every hue in the rainbow.
Designed to be worked from dozens of short lengths of yarn, this pattern includes a tutorial for the clasp-weft join – a technique adapted from weaving – which eliminates the need to weave in dozens of ends.
After the first few rows, this scarf is easy to knit without the pattern – perfect for social knitting or travel. Knitted in Infinite Twist’s Helix, it’s next-to-the-skin soft with gorgeous hand-feel and drape.
Important note: I have tested the Clasp Weft Join in Helix, which is a natural wool 2-ply. I can’t guarantee how this join will work with other yarn, and it is not recommended for slippery or synthetic yarns.
