Materials and Details
Worsted weight yarn: 200 yards total
Note: This is a great way to use up yarn ends. Grab a variety of yarns in your favorite or seasonal colors.
Yarns used in sample (all yarns are Red Heart Super Saver):
House - Buff; Grass - Spring Green; Wreath - Cafe; Center circle - Black; Bird - Deft Blue, Pumpkin, Baby Blue; Roof and Rectangle Base - Polo Stripe; Sun -, Fruity Stripe
Crochet Hook: H (5mm)
Miscellaneous Supplies

• Yarn needle
• Stuffing
• Insert - 8 x 12” piece of plastic, cardboard, or similar to insert between house layers (I like to use the inexpensive plastic placemats or flexible cutting mats from Walmart or dollar stores)
• One large D ring (1.5” used in sample) or similar item to use as a hanger
• Buttons to create a “peg” (1- ¾” and 4-½” used in sample)
• Sewing needle, matching thread, one large sew on snap (1” used in sample)
• Wooden skewer to hold the sun (optional - the sun could be sewn to the roof)
• Stabilizer piece - 8”x 1.5” piece of wood or similar (a wooden ruler cut to 8” works great) to help the bottom hold its shape
• pins to help hold things in place during assembly Gauge: not necessary for this project Measurements: 9” wide x 13” tall
