Best of Both Worlds Fingerless Mitts
by Amy Tyler
Silk is shiny, strong, and dyes boldly. Cormo wool is soft and elastic. When you ply these two together, you get the best of both worlds: shiny color, strength, softness, and huggable elasticity – what better yarn qualities for a dainty pair of fingerless mitts?
For a Spring project that showcased the best of this yarn, lace, picot, and eyelets were the order of the day – a lace panel on back of hand, a picot hem on the back of wrist with ribbing on front of wrist, eyelets as increases for the thumb gusset, and a round of eyelets at the top edge of the hand and thumb.
