Knit from the bottom hem up, this slightly cropped, feminine cardigan has a classic tailored fit. The sweater is knit from the bottom hem up to the armholes. The body is then divided and the front and back armholes and neckline are shaped separately. The sleeves are knit flat with a shaped cap, sewn together, and then set in.

The back features a wide vine lace panel, flanked by two narrow vertical lace panels, and the fronts feature the same narrow vertical lace panels along the button band. These panels consist of an floral lace and twisted stitch motif reminiscent of climbing floral vines and ironwork. The body is shaped with decreases to define the waist. The sleeve cuffs are trimmed with a wide band of the vine lace
panel. The separate pieces are then sewn together. The front edges, hem and cuffs are trimmed with a narrow twisted-rib ribbing. The front of the cardigan closes with small buttons for a dainty finishing detail.
