Easy pattern for beginners. Baby booties are knit flat, then sewn together to produce a bootie-shape.

Additional Materials Required:

  • US #6 / 4.0 mm double-pointed needles, for making I-cord tie
  • Yarn needle

From Knitting for Baby: These booties are knitted back and forth on straight needles, starting at the ankle, then down around the foot from ankle to toe. The resulting piece of knitting is then folded and seamed to make a perfect bootie shape. An I-cord tie threaded through eyelet holes around the ankle holds the booties on little feet. We chose a very soft merino wool for this project. It is sure to keep baby’s feet warm and cozy.
