Our Basic Elements™ knitting patterns offer a wide range of projects that allow you to create wardrobe staples with your own personal flair!

About This Pattern
A simple knit T-shirt is a warm weather wardrobe staple. You’ll reach for this simple breezy top all summer long. With its comfortable shaping and clean lines, it will easily pair with your jeans, shorts and skirts.

This top is knit in one piece. The body is knit in the round to the armholes, then divided and the front and back worked separately to the shoulder seams. The sleeves are worked in the round from stitches picked up around the armholes. It features subtle A-line shaping, a relaxed crew neck, drop shoulders, and short sleeves.

While this is a great first sweater project for a beginner, this is also a pattern you can turn to again and again. Once you’re comfortable with the basic construction, use this pattern as a blank canvas for your own creative expression. Use your stash of leftovers to add stripes. Try different stitch patterns. The possibilities are endless.
