Basic Doll Pattern
by Kath Dalmeny
With simple variations to skin and hair colour, and with options for different types of knitted clothing and accessories… a South American Indian, a Canadian Mountie, pearl fisherman, African park ranger, farmer girl, Australian sheep farmer and an Eskimo, complete with fur-lined coat and a husky dog.
The amounts of yarn vary, needing approximately 50g DK skin colour for a basic doll, and oddments for the various clothes and accessories.
The pattern also suggests using 10mm (3/8 inch) toy safety eyes, but felt eyes or black stitches would also be appropriate.
