Baseline Socks
Keep your tootsies toasty with the double layers of crochet brioche.
Created toe-up with gusset shaping and a heel flap, you have the advantage of trying your sock on as you go, allowing adjustments to be made if necessary. And with six sizes, a choice of two heels depths and options to make a regular leg or shortie version, the Baseline Socks will have you in a pair of perfectly fitting crochet socks in no time.
Sizes
(1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6) to fit a foot circumference (at the ball of the foot) of (19, 20, 21, 22.5, 23.5, 24.5)cm / 7.5, 8, 8.5, 9, 9.5, 10)”
Finished sock circumference: (17.75, 18.5, 19.25, 20, 20.75, 21.5)cm / (7, 7.25, 7.5, 7.75, 8, 8.5)”
Materials
2 x 100g skeins of fingering weight yarn in contrasting colours.
4mm hook, plus optional hook one size larger
Gauge
26 sts and 30 rows to 10cm/4” in sc worked in unturned rounds. Note: Row gauge will be different if you swatch in rows. Provided your stitch gauge is correct, any difference in row gauge can be adjusted if necessary.
Skill level: Intermediate
The is a project created using basic stitches, simple shaping and minimal finishing. You will need to know how to work post stitches. The pattern is not particularly difficult, but there are a number of elements that require concentration. That said, all parts are detailed step-by-step to keep things as simple as possible.
