Materials: 120 (145 yds 110 (133) m Aran wt yarn, or yarn that works to gauge. As shown:
Large: 2 skeins Blue Sky Woolstok Tweed, 85% Fine Highland Wool / 15% Donegal; 100g /109yds / 100m. Color: Sage Rose 3312
Small: 1 skein Ultra Alpaca Chunky Natural 100g / 3.5 oz /131 yds /120m. Color: Millet 72511
Yarn amount for both sizes allows for a pompom.
Needles: US7/4.5 mm 16”/40 cm circular needles for ribbing.
US9/5.5 mm 16”/40 cm circular needles for body of hat or size to get gauge.
Double-pointed needles US9/5.5 mm for top of hat.
Notions: cable needle, markers, blunt tapestry needle.
Optional: purchased pompom.
Gauge: 15 sts/22 rounds over 4”/10 cm in stockinette. 18 sts/22 rounds over 4”/10 cm in Chart A cable pattern stitch, after blocking, slightly stretched.
