Baltic Adventure
Welcome to my very first MOCK - a mystery sock pattern designed for Sock Knitters Anonymous, a group on Ravelry related to sock knitting.
Embarque with me on a Baltic Adventure - we will discover some regional knitting techniques on this journey!
You will need (semi)solid colorways. With enough contrast, a variegated yarn with a non-matching contrast color will work, too.
Socks are worked top down with a heel cuff. There are 4 sizes available (54, 62, 70, 78 sts)
Clues will be published on May 1st, 8th, 15th and 22nd.
Clues will be written and charted, also pattern includes some video tutorials for special techniques.
This pattern is easy to work for an adventorous beginner, but also a lot of fun for experienced ones.
If you have questions, please visit the May/June MOCK thread in the SKA group. Your question may already have been asked and answered.
Errata and notes
in the first versions of the pattern and the prekal info was a wrong gauge. I fixed that. Correct gauge is 30 sts and 44 rows are 10x10 cm/4x4 inches
The Roosimine motif is worked with 4m/4.5 yards of yarn held double
Placing the first Roosimine motif (leg): k21 (25, 29, 33)st, start working Roosimine, k22 (26, 30, 34) until EOR (motif should be centered on the other side of the EOR by one st off)
Clue 3: 5 rounds of stockinette stitch after the second Latvian Braid are worked in MC Then before the heel flap: k 14 (16, 18, 18, 20) turn.
