Bain
This scarf was designed as part of a collaboration between Lucy Hague and DyeNinja, for Edinburgh Yarn Festival 2018.

This Celtic-inspired scarf design makes use of an innovative technique which combines slipped stitches with cables to make a completely reversible pattern. The travelling cabled knot-work is mirrored in reverse on the opposite side, producing a richly textured fabric with no wrong side.
This design was named in honour of George Bain (1881-1968), the Scottish artist and teacher whose reference book Celtic Art: The Methods of Instruction contributed widely to the revival and continued application of Celtic and Pictish art in the modern world.
