Bahamas Tweed Stitch Scarf
This pattern produces a wide shallow triangular scarf. The scarf is cast on across the widest edge and decreases down to a point. The pattern starts with a few rows of garter stitch and then changes to Tweed Stitch (Half Linen Stitch) with garter stitch at the edges.
As the scarf progresses the side the slip stitch part of the pattern is worked changes to give an interesting texture and help to keep the scarf laying flat once it is finished. This also makes the scarf reversible.
The sample scarves were knitted in two different yarns, a cotton yarn with longer colour changes and a multi-coloured sock yarn. The stitch pattern helps to mingle the colours as well as creating texture.
