This is a simple top down sweater with a touch hazy ruffles to turn it into a dressier affair with just the right touch of femininity. I used Debbie Bliss Rialto Aran for the body of the sweater, it is quite lovely to work with and feels delightful next to the skin. And I used Rowen Kid Silk Haze which is perfect for the ruffle. Other yarns of similar weight of course will work just as well. I love the way the smooth, clean, sturdy lines of the aran yarn contrast with the fuzzy, blurry, airy lines of the mohair. Since this sweater is constructed from the top down it is very easy to custom fit it. It can be tried on at any time by slipping the stitches onto a piece of waste yarn with a tapestry needle. It is made to be form fitting but if a looser fit is desired, leave out the decreases in the lower body. There is a pictorial for the collar and other helpful hints at woodhouseknits.com.
