Tip 1: If you find yourself with holes where you pick up the sts again for the hood, I suggest using a trick I use for filling in holes for mittens/gloves -- pick up a few extra sts in those areas and then decrease the sts down again to the specified number in the pattern as soon as you can (usually by the next row).

Tip 2:To minimize holey-ness where you pick up stitches around the armcycle for the sleeve cap, knit through the back loop the first time you knit the picked up stitches. That will tighten up the sts and after that first knit, you can resume normal knitting through the front.

ERRATA: (Revised 11/14/11)

The last paragraph on page 5 should read: ”…Work to marker, m1, sm, work 0 (0, 0, 0, 1, 0) sts, sm, m1, work to end.” The increases should always be where the center of the hood is (around the two markers used to mark the hood center) to make it easier to incorporate the ribbing pattern into the increased stitches. There should be 2 increases per increase round.
