Original instructions call for size 70 crochet thread and “Stahlstricknadeln Nr 7/0” (fine steel knitting needles between 1.75 and 2mm), for a finished size 20 cm in diameter.
Chart Fig. 15, photo top of page 15. Instructions on front of chart sheet.
Cast on 8 stitches, repeat chart 8 times per round.
Aurikel is Primula auricula, mountain cowslip.
Note: There are two designers listed for Beyer Band 711: Herbert Niebling and Marianne Vitt. Please see this forum post for an explanation of why Marianne Vitt is the presumed designer of this pattern.
