Audrey Hoodie
This simple seed-stitch hoodie from 1957 is an example of the quick-to-knit patterns so popular in the late 1950’s. With television and other concerns of modern life came less patience for knitting, and patterns like these catered to the knitter with a short attention span. If you’ve never worked a shell edging in crochet before, practice on your swatch until you feel comfortable with it. The sweater is meant to be worn open, with cuffs that roll back so baby has room to grow.
Adapted from a 1950s Columbia-Minerva pattern.
