This stylish spiral lace beret is named for the graceful fronds of the lady fern that gently bend in the breeze. The hat looks great on the wrong side too. You get twice the wardrobe enhancement for half the knitting. In cotton, it’s a cool, clever summer hat; in wool or alpaca it’s a warm but fun winter hat.

Worked in the round using basic lace techniques and shaping (sk2p, k, kfb, yo); the stitch pattern is very easy to memorize.

Sizing Note: The lace pattern is VERY stretchy so as long as you don’t cast on too tightly the pattern can be adjusted in blocking for a wide variety of head sizes.

One skein of Skinny Bugga is enough yarn for two hats.
