I have always been a little animal crazy. I love them all - furry, feathered, scaly and even the slimy ones like snails. OK snails are ‘goggos’ but they’re still cute and they still need rescuing out of puddles when it’s raining especially the teeny tiny ones.

My biggest ambition in life is to marry a rich man so he can buy me a huge farm and I can rescue every animal that needs rescuing. If any of you know someone that fits the bill…….give him my number! I don’t even mind if he comes for a visit on the odd occasion lol!

At The Rainbow Bridge was created as a tribute to all the many ‘manimals’ I have been so privileged to share my life with but especially for my two Yorkie babies Pippa and Gizmo. I shared almost 17 years of love with my little Miss Peanut and 12 years with Mr Gizzie Momo.

It’s been a bit of a roller coaster working through the pattern. I hand write all of my patterns before they are released, and for a few weeks I struggled to even write the name of the pattern. I shed tears along the way and missed my furbabies like I have since they left me but more importantly, I remembered all the love and kisses, doggie snuggles, doggie funnies and all the beautiful years I had shared with my animal children. Remembering a life shared with them helped that part of my little heart heal a bit more.

I hope for those of you that have shared your life with a furry, feathered, scaly or any other kind of ‘manimal’ friend, the pattern brings a little paw print back. Make it for the ones who are gone and the ones still here, and while you are making it remember how lucky and blessed you are to share an amazing life with your pet.

Sending you all love, purrrrrrs and wagging tails from
Ness, Arthur, Pamitchi, Pepper, Ziggy. And Peanut and Momo at The Bridge xxx

Colourway 1 – Baby blanket – 102cm x 102cm – ≈3125m.
Colourway 1 – Large blanket – 150cm x 150cm – ≈6500m.
Colourway 2 – Large blanket – 150cm x 150cm – ≈5750m.

The pattern is made up of large and small squares and lace panels which means the layout can be adapted if you would like to.

It uses US terminology.
Skill level - Intermediate with some tricksy bits.

Material list:
• Any yarn of your choice – I used Colourspun DK cotton (50g/125m) for Colourway 1 and 2 – 4mm hook.
• Hook applicable to your yarn weight.
• Needle for sewing in ends and needle join.
• Stitch markers.

In the prelude of the pattern you will find detailed stitch tutorials, yarn quantities used for both colourways and many more bits of useful info!
Round for round instructions with each part.
Detailed photo tutorials with each part.
Print Friendly files for each part - pattern files without photo tutorials (there is no print friendly file for The Prelude).

The pattern has been designed in cotton but is suited to most yarns. If you are not working the pattern in my choice of yarn, your yarn quantities may differ.
Selecting multiple colours to work the pattern will also increase the quantity of yarn used. Yarn thickness, hook size and tension will affect the overall size of the blanket.

Throughout the written pattern there are detailed photo tutorials.
