Adorn yourself with a beautiful set of wings, in the form of a lacy cape-like shawl. In jet black linen and cotton, this is a dramatic summer cover-up. In pure dove white, it would be an elegant wedding accessory. Worked all in one piece, and at a larger gauge for lightness and drape, it is quick to knit, and the lace pattern is easily memorized and not difficult to master. Have fun playing with colors and yarn types, and take flight!

Sizes: smaller, 25” x 68” and larger, 31” x 80”
Materials: Juniper Moon Farm Zooey, 284 yards per 100 gm ball, 3 (4) balls
US size 10.5 needles, 24-32” circular, or long straight (the piece is knit flat, but with a fairly large number of stitches) or the size you need to get the correct gauge
One or two stitch holders
Gauge: 12 sts and 16 rows = 4” in stockinette stitch, blocked
One pattern repeat measures about 3” wide by 2.5” tall, after blocking
Pattern notes: All measurements given are the post-blocking lengths, since the pre-blocked lengths can vary greatly. Be sure to make a swatch and block it before knitting to ensure your wings will be the right size.
If you have larger shoulders or bust, make the larger size for best coverage. The length is easy to customize for your height, by knitting each wing piece shorter or longer.
