“The inspiration for this design came from the flowers in my garden,” says Mary Henderson. “The four-stitch repeat gives lots of opportunity to play with bands of colour, varying the light and dark shades of pink/red with the softer green and orange-yellow. The sleeves, neck and button bands in a charcoal shade are a frame for the vibrant centre. Corrugated rib at the hem and cuffs draw the eye, and I have used alternating button colours to match the bands of Fair Isle.”
