There is no specific thread, yarn, hook or gauge given for this pattern. Choose a hook size appropriate to your fiber. Size 20 thread worked with a 1.25 mm hook works up to be 5 cm (2”) in width.

Number of balls of thread used depends on how long you make the insertion.

ERRATA Row 1 in the written instructions should read: Turn. Ch 3. Dc in first ch of base ch, 16 dcs over ch, dc in last ch. The chart is correct. Directions for additional repeats should also have 16 dcs over ch.
