Aquarelle Shawl
Sun-dappled days and cool evening breezes are the perfect backdrop for this lightweight crescent shawl. The watercolor-inspired waves open into shells and scallops in a delightful dance of texture and color. Originally released as my 2022 Spring String Mystery Knitalong, Aquarelle is an entertaining project that you’ll enjoy from start to finish.
Imagine a dreamy, watercolor floral. High contrast isn’t necessary. You can use any yarn you like, but the single ply blend with a bit of silk lends itself well to the flow of this design. You can use a speckled or variegated yarn for one of your colors, as long as you have one solid or semi-solid to go with it. I recommend a blend with silk, alpaca or tencel to achieve the flow and drape intended for this design (superwash yarn will also lend to the drape better than non-superwash).
