Anticipation
This baby blanket was designed with future grandchildren in mind. The leaf lace pattern is interesting and rhythmic, making it a relaxing and meditative project. As I knit love into each stitch, I think about being a grandma one day. Create one for a special little someone in your life!
For the sample, I used the colorway Cedar. Because I chose a hand-dyed yarn which can have high color variation even within the same dye lot, I decided to use the feathering (or fading) method described below. When I had about 40 grams remaining in the first skein, I introduced the second skein and alternated between the two skeins of yarn until the first skein was gone. I did this with the remaining 2 skeins of yarn also. And because I was slipping the first stitch of each row, I chose to change the yarn on the 5th stitch, after the garter stitch border.
