This pattern is a great way to use up any yarn oddments you have left over from other projects, and dress your tree for free!

You can also hang your Christmas stars from doorknobs or your mantlepiece and they can make cute stocking stuffers if you omit the hanging ribbon.

The finished stars will measure are approximately 3 inches (7.5cm) wide (if you follow the recommended tension).

What you will need:

2 knitting needles (US2.5/3mm or size required to match tension advice)
20g of DK yarn (e.g. Sirdar Snuggly DK
Two plastic safety eyes
Thin black ribbon (approximately 12 inches/30cm per ornament - optional)
Polyester stuffing (polyfil)
1 tapestry needle for sewing up

Christmas star unsupervised as its small parts may pose a choking hazard. In addition, any ribbon hangers may pose a strangulation risk due to their length. You may wish to embroider eyes on the finished stars to make them more child friendly, however they may still pose a choking hazard for small children under three years old.
