If you’re fond of both cables and lace and don’t know which pattern to choose, this may be the one!
The cozy and relaxed Amica pullover features a mix of both!
I worked this pullover in plain summer, and I couldn’t imagine how absolutely adorable it would be to wear in winter.
I wear it constantly, it’s so smooth, relaxed and friendly.
A true Amica.
This is a tested pattern. See list of testers further down.
Construction
The body is worked bottom up and in the round to the armholes.
The upper back and front are worked back and forth in separate pieces. Shoulders are seamed.
The sleeves are worked top-down and in-the-round.
Materials
The sample uses 2 strands of yarn, held together. Yarn 1: Soft Silk Mohair from Knitting for Olive, in the shade Kirsebärblomst/Cherry Blossom.
This lace-weight yarn comes in balls of 25 gr/0.88 oz and 225 m/246 yards. You will need approximately 5/5/5/6/7 balls of yarn 1. Yarn 2: Alpaca 2 from Isager Yarn, in the shade 61. This fingering-weight yarn comes in skeins of 50 gr/1.76 oz and 250 m/273 yards.
You will need approximately 4/4/4/5/6 skeins of yarn 2.
Please note that my testers used single strands of heavier weight yarns. (Details are found in their project notes).
Needles: Size 3.5 mm/US4 for the ribbed hem, cuffs and neckline. Size 4 mm/US6 for the lace and cable sections.
Sizes
Finished chest measurement, when worked at gauge and after blocking: 88/97/110/127/136 cm = 34.75/38/43.5/50/54”
The sample is worked in size 1, with approximately 10 cm/4” of positive ease.
The sweater is supposed to be roomy and cozy and I recommend 10 – 20 cm/4 – 8” of positive ease.
