Spring 2021 Elizabeth Smith Collection

/////

Pulling inspiration from a modern earth-tone palette, this Spring collection from Elizabeth Smith uses clean, simple lines and floral eyelet details to create light, transitional layers that are as easy to knit as they are to wear. Top-down or bottom-up, garment or accessory, Elizabeth’s thoughtfully crafted collection for Manos del Uruguay is sure to have something that will please!

Amaryllis combines classic top-down, seamless construction with a flattering “wear with anything” A-line silhouette, which drapes perfectly with the Serena yarn. Easy eyelet details adorn the hem, evoking a floral, springtime vibe. Stitches are picked up along each front edge and neck back and worked in garter stitch to create the buttonless front bands that provide a nice frame for the piece as well as some structure.

The marled effect created by holding 2 strands of Serena in different colors together creates a beautiful, speckled fabric that not only adds visual interest but also provides an opportunity to play with different color combinations to create your own unique look.

NOTES
This project is worked with one strand of each color held together throughout.

This button-less cardigan is worked in one piece in from the top down. After completing the raglan yoke, the stitches are divided for working the lower body in rows to the lower edge, and the sleeves in the round down to the cuffs.

When working the sleeves in the round, you may use the longer circular needles and the magic loop technique instead of double-pointed needles.
