The Sierra Nevada mountain range is dotted with crystal clear alpine lakes, each of which is surrounded by a panorama of trees and ridgelines. This beanie is perfect for a winter day adventuring around your favorite alpine lake. The colorwork motif features the mirrored reflection where the mountains meets the lake, and is knitted using stranded colorwork in two contrasting colors.

Pattern Notes: Necessary skills include knit and purl, working increases and decreases, working stranded colorwork, knitting in the round, reading charts.

Size: Adult Medium (22” circumference)

Materials:

Yarn: two skeins of Sierra Rose Alpacas Winter Jewel Collection yarn (80% alpaca, 20% wool; 220 yards/201 meters per 100 gram/3.5 oz skein): in Natural (Main Color) and Heathered Blue (Contrast Color) used for Sample A; in Natural (Main Color) and Red (Contrast Color) used for Sample B. Or approximately 147 yards/134 meters for Main Color, and 73 yards/67 meters for Contrast Color of a DK weight alpaca/wool blend yarn.

Needles: US size 6/4 mm needles, or size needed to obtain gauge. 16” circular knitting needles and DPNS are recommended.
