Almond Street Shawl
Alternating sections of horizontal stripes and vertical stripes worked in a solid yarn and a slow changing variegated yarn create interesting textures in this asymmetrical shawl.
Worked from the tip to the base all in garter stitch, the Almond Street Shawl is a relaxing knit for the more advanced knitter and a good introduction to color work for the newer knitter. All garter stitch, the finished shawl is plush with a great drape.
The sample shown is worked in Merino Alpaca Sport and Merino Alpaca Sport Color Change by Cloudborn Fibers, a blend of superwash merino and baby alpaca. Midnight Heather is the solid color and Puget Sound is the color change.
Finished measurements after blocking are a wingspan of 63”, and a
center back length of 26”.
You will need 274 yards each of two colors of sport weight yarn and a
size US 7 (4.5mm) 24” circular needle.
