Alluvia
Named for the interesting ridges that form in the sand at the mouths of glaciers, the Alluvia Felted Tote is the perfect accessory for fall! Worked in the round from the bottom up, this tote utilizes an exaggerated pleat stitch that forms the folds of material that become the felted ruffles. With so many shades of Wool of the Andes Worsted from which to choose, the possibilities are endless to create a colorful and unique accessory.
11-6-10 IMPORTANT UPDATE: Some knitters have reported running out of yarn on the bottom three colors when using only one skein of WotA. While I did not experience this problem when creating the bag, I want to make sure all of you are aware that this may happen. I have changed the yarn requirements for the bottom three colors to TWO SKEINS of Wool of the Andes. Please be aware of this when selecting yarn for your Alluvia! Thank you!
ERRATA: Under the instructions for the bottom of the bag, the pattern should read: “Continue working back and forth in garter stitch (knit every row) for 120 more rows, creating a long rectangle that will make up the bottom of the bag.
