Alines is an asymmetrical triangle designed to play with colour by separating short row colour blocks with bands of stripes. The stripes are perfect for a variegated yarn coordinated to show off the other two colours.
The design suits fingering to worsted weight yarn, in a triad of 3 colours: 3 solids/tonals, or 2 solids and a complementary variegated for the stripes. And only 7 ends to weave in. :)

This design can be worked entirely from the written pattern, or from charts with notes, however the nature of the forumla is also something of a recipe, with charts and illustrations to explain the construction, and is best suited to more adventurous/confident knitters.

The pictured shawl used 195g total, 700m. 50g/173m each of C1 (Sabine - purple) and C2 (Catriona Loves Purple - multi colour) and 99g of C3 (Golden Pear - ochre).

Special thanks to Sabine and her sister Regina of Schafgabe, where the initial design was first sketched out, however much it morphed along the way. :)
