I visited the Alhambra in Granada, Spain, in 2009, and I still remember the breathtaking grounds and architecture. To me, however, the most impressive feature of the Alhambra was the intricate details of the white lattice designs on the walls and archways of the buildings, and the inspiration for this cowl came from these delicate patterns.

The Alhambra Cowl is knit with chunky yarn and thick needles for a warm and satisfying knit that sits close to the neck. The lattice stitch, created by simple cables and twisted stitches, melds into ribbing at the edges, perfect for showing off solid or semi-tonal yarns.

The cowl is 22 inches in circumference and 8 inches tall, and is knit with a single skein of Malabrigo Rasta or comparable yarn.

I hope you enjoy knitting your very own Alhambra Cowl!
