MY DESIGN IDEAS AND ADVICE
This pattern is one of eight pattern that I designed to launch especially at Yarndale 2017 (held annually in Skipton, North Yorkshire) with the Knoll Mohair Tweed DK which was also just launched that year. The yarn is spun in Donegal so I named all the patterns using Irish words, Aisling (ASH- ling) is the Irish word for vision or dream – what you do in your head!
I love all my patterns to be simple to read as possible. I want knitters to easily and smoothly knit a project. There will always be moments in a pattern when you will think what does that mean? But I hope that knitters get to the solution quicker with my patterns. I designed this hat for many reasons – one because I have always wanted a hat with this stitch technique on it! Two because it is the same pattern as the tank top I designed in this series of patterns and I always love to do a hat or accessory so some knitters can try out the technique or shades on a small project before starting the garment project and I could go on with other reasons but I’ll keep it brief for now, maybe I’ll add some other time!
