Afterthought Darts Cardigan
Pattern Description from Interweave Knits, Fall 2008: “The Afterthought Darts Cardigan fits perfectly on everyone: Waist darts are applied after knitting, creating a boned look and made-to-measure-fit. Theresa Schabes uses chunky edgings and buttons to contrast with the delicate, feminine look. A light, lace mohair yarn turns plain stockinette into a fluid, unusual layering fabric.”
Finished Size: 32 (34½, 37, 42, 45, 47½, 50)“ bust.
Yarn: Louet KidLin (49% linen, 35% kid mohair, 16% nylon; 250 yd 229 m/50 g): #6 Mexican orange, 5 (6, 7, 8, 8, 9, 10) balls.
Needles: Sizes 9 (5.5 mm) and 10½ (6.5 mm). Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.
Notions: Size K/10½ (6.5 mm) crochet hook; tapestry needle; seven 7⁄8” buttons (buttons shown: JHB style #1805); removable markers; sewing needle.
