Skill level: Beginner
The Adjacent Shawl is a simple garter stitch shawl that uses three colors of fingering weight yarn. Choose high contrast colors for a bold look or subtle colors for a soft look.
The focal point of this shawl is the asymmetry of the two colors at the bottom center. The juxtaposition of the colors brings visual interest to this otherwise simple layering piece.
Construction Details
The Adjacent Shawl is worked seamlessly from the top center of the shawl towards the bottom edge, using increasing for shaping. The bottom edges are worked one half at a time, in a log-cabin style technique. While this shawl is worked using 200g total of fingering weight yarn, suggestions are given in the pattern for making the piece larger.
