Designed to use up all the yarn that’s left after knitting Chinotto, this fun simple shawl, that creates a very unusual shape working only on different increases, is the perfect companion for mindless knitting hours.
Yarn
Approx 150 g , 450 m / 500 yd any sport-weight yarn
Sample is knit in:
Malabrigo Arroyo, 100% merino. MC: Natural, CC: Coffee Toffee
Needles
4 mm (US size 6), 120 cm / 47” circular needles, or size to obtain correct gauge
Tapestry needle to weave in ends
16 stitch markers (here are some I make)
Blocking wires and pins
Skills Needed
Cast on, knitting, basic increases, slip stitch
Gauge
19 sts and 31 rows over 10cm / 4” in stockinette stitch, severely wet blocked.
Gauge is not crucial for this project, but it will determine yarn usage and final measurements
Finished Measurement
Wingspan, 104 cm / 41”, depth 50 cm / 19.75”
