Across Town
I had this idea that it would be visually interesting to have a cable run uninterrupted from wrist to wrist. And I was so inspired by Neighborhood Fiber Co and their beautiful colors that I had to pick more than one. With those two ideas in mind Across Town was born.
Details: Across Town is knit using 2 colors of Studio Worsted to create a colorblock effect that is popular right now. The sleeves and chest are highly textured with a cable pattern, welting, and mistake ribbing. The neckline is a wide square neck that is edged with attached icord for firmness. To give the shoulders a better fit a few short rows are worked. Finally, stitches for the body are picked up and knit to the ribbed hem. The pattern has instructions for no waist shaping, traditional waist shaping, and A-Line. This pattern is suitable for an intermediate knitter who wants to add to their skill set but also an experienced knitter who enjoys a little intrigue without too much fuss.
