A Garland of Roses is worked from a small cast-on as a top-down triangular shawl body, with wide crescent border. The design is highly adaptable in size: the main lace-charts may be repeated as you please, and the edging omitted if you prefer. There is also a choice of three spines.

Suitable for any yarn, from cobweb to fingering weight, that knits with good stitch-definition, and about 375m/415yds upwards for a shawlette; 450m/490yds for a small shawl; or a minimum of 550m/600 yds for a full-sized shawl.

Please note that the pattern is given as charts only, with little written explanation. It should present no difficulties to knitters with experience of working lace and the ability to read their stitches, but is not really suitable for beginners.
