Length from top of shoulders, 9ins; width all round at under-arm, 18ins.; length of sleeve from under-arm. 3 ins.

“This delicious little coat is easy to knit, yet looks satisfyingly “professional” when finished, with its neat borders and pretty patterns round the hem.“

Calls for: 2ozs of “Halcyon” Non-Shrink Knitting Wool, 3ply; two No. 8 “Beehive” knitting needles; 3/4 yd double satin ribbon to match wool.

In modern terms, standard 4ply sock wool and 3.00 - 3.25mm needles (whatever give you the correct gauge) is fine. You’ll probably use about 300m of Sock weight yarn.

Heavier weight yarn would produce a larger size.
