These are top down socks, which begin with a flat intarsia pattern. Seam before turning heel.
Size is determined by number of rounds between heel and toe.
Yarn is discontinued, but many current solid sock yarns work well and size can be adjusted by changing gauge slightly.
Original colors were:
Main Color: Gray Mix (a light tweedy gray)
Color A: White
Color B. Black
Color C: Scarlet
Pattern gives 1 20 yard “Bob-Meadowspun” for Scarlet and White and 2 for black - this is probably a typo, as White is used the most of the other colors, so bear this in mind when buying substitute yarns.
