#32 Beaded Shawl
Pattern Description from Vogue Knitting, Spring/Summer 2010: “Lace expert Karen Joan Raz dazzles with this top-down triangular beaded-lace shawl, knit in Jade Sapphire Exotic Fibres’ ‘Lacey Lamb.’ Beads, added with a crochet hook as you knit, wink at strategic points; the lace bind-off edging makes a beautiful border.”
“Triangular shawl worked from the top down in lace pattern with beads added while knitting. Shown on page 73.”
Knitted Measurements: Approx 84” x 39”/213cm x 99cm
Materials:
- 2 4oz/60g balls (each approx 825yd/754m) ofJade Sapphire Exotic Fibres Lacey Lamb (extrafine lambswool) in #002 off white
- One size 5 (3.75mm) circular needle, 24”/60cm long OR SIZE TO OBTAIN GAUGE
- One 1mm beading crochet hook
- 1000 size 6/0 glass beads (approx 60g) silver lined gold with rainbow finish
Gauge:
- 16 sts and 32 rows = 4”/10cm over body pattern st using size 5 (3.75mm) needle.
- TAKE TIME TO CHECK GAUGE
Notes:
- Shawl is worked from the top down.
- WS rows are not shown on the charts for this pattern. All WS rows are worked as for Row 2.
