This pattern was written for beginning lace knitters to ‘get their feet wet’ learning to read different types of lace instructions in their written form. Charts have been added to let you try your hand at those if you wish. Instructions are included for adding beads to each pattern, but these are not required for a beautiful lace scarf. Knitter’s choice!

Lace, fingering, sport, and DK weight yarns all can be used for this project. Instructions are given for lace and fingering weights. Simply increase your needle size for other weights of yarn.

This lace scarf was the 2015 group project for A Big Comfy Doghouse where over 80 scarves were knitted, one-pattern-a-month. Many of these were knitted as gifts for the end of the year holiday season!
