A garter-stitch kerchief gets its triangular shape from yarnover increases that double as eyelets through which the ribbon tie is secured.

MATERIALS
Stretch Socks by Patons, 1¾oz/50g skeins, each approx 239yd/218m (cotton/wool/nylon/elastic)
• 2 skeins in #31206 kelp
• One pair size 9 (5.5mm) needles OR SIZE TO OBTAIN GAUGE
• 3⁄8“/1cm turquoise grosgrain ribbon, 57″/144.5cm long
KNITTED MEASUREMENTS
• Width (unstretched) 17″/43cm
• Length (from edge to point) 10″/20.5cm
(Note Due to elastic content in yarn, the kerchief will stretch along the wide edge.
GAUGE
20 sts and 34 rows to 4″/10cm over garter st using size 9 (4.5mm) needles and 2 strands of yarn held tog.
