#09 Socks
by Barb Brown
A key element of Sanquhar knitting is corrugated rib. Brown’s socks begin at the cuff in the two-color k1, p1 ribbing, followed by an alternating two-color pattern before continuing to a traditional Sanquhar check. The heel, sole and toe are worked in complementary two-color patterns. The mélange of motifs, along with Ancient Arts Fibre Crafts’ 100% SW Bluefaced Leicester Wool Sock, uphold a beautiful tradition.
