Pattern description from Vogue Knitting, Spring/Summer 2007: “A flouncy baby-doll dress by Shirley Paden, stitched in Anny Blatt’s cotton-sheen ‘Louxor,’ has bell sleeves, a square neckline and a ruffled hem. The narrow lace bands are knit horizontally; the larger sections are either picked up from or sewn to these bands.”
“Loose-fitting, mesh stitch tunic with very deep neck opening, side slits, attached hood and garter stitch trims. Sized for Small, Medium and Large and shown in size Small on page 67.”
Knitted Measurements:
- Small (Medium, Large)
- Bust 34 (37, 40)“/86 (94, 102)cm
- Length 32 (32½, 33)“/81 (82.5, 84)cm
- Upper arm 12 (13, 14)“/30.5 (33, 35.5)cm
Materials:
- 13 (14, 15) 1¾oz/50g balls (each approx 153yd/140m) of Anny Blatt Louxor (cotton) in #50 blanc
- One pair size 6 (4mm) needles or size to obtain gauge
- “Either one 40”/100cm or two 32”/80cm size 6 (4mm) circulars for Panel #1 (Note: Use two 32” circulars if you want the same feeling as working with 2 needles. the length is needed to accommodate the large stitch count.)”
Notes:
- “The front and back are each worked in 5 parts with 4 additional insertions for the neckline. The sleeves are worked in 4 parts.”
- “For the front and back, make certain that the ‘Acorns’ in the 2 insertions and at the base of the garment is seamed. For the sleeves, make certain that the ‘Acorns’ in the bottom edging and those in the elbow insertion are pointed in the same direction when the sleeves are seams and that the sleeve edgings and insertion Acorns are pointed in the same direction as those on the insertions for the front and back.”
