Natalie Warner | Natalie in Stitches
I design size- and shape-inclusive beautiful, modern knitting patterns for clothes makers who need their garments to fit well. Size is one thing, but shape is another - and it’s our body shape that often dictates the size we choose to make.
I love including fully-fashioned shaping details because of my background in tailoring, and seeing the positive impact this has on knitters who make my designs brings me joy. This is at the heart of everything I do, ever since I published my first patterns in 2013.
I also teach other people how to design clothes, and run two courses:
- an online knitwear design course, covering everything from illustration to pattern grading;
- and an in-person clothing design course comprising made-to-measure blocks, creative pattern cutting, and garment construction.
My mother and grandmother always knitted when I was a little girl but it took a while for me to get the knitting bug - I actually sewed myself clothes before making my first jumper in my teens. I especially like working with cables, lace, texture and stranded colourwork.
Thank you for stopping by, and I hope you like my work :-)
